You may be asking who or what is Your Horsham?
It’s a long story, but in a nutshell, we are a group of business owners, managers and representative of a range of sectors throughout Horsham Town Centre. We have come together to communicate and collaborate, in helping and supporting your Horsham town centre community to drive forward into the coming years as a thriving, vibrant market town, with a mission to make Horsham an even better place to live, work and play!
How was this done?
Businesses within a defined town centre area were consulted throughout the summer of 2023, to find out what matters to them and what would help improve their business, our community and its environment. From the consultation, we developed a business plan and this was put to ballot through a regulated process known as a BID. The BID for Horsham was voted on in December 2023 and successfully approved. Over the past months we have been working behind the scenes to form a regulated Board of voluntary directors to bring you some new and exciting opportunities, initiatives and events within Horsham.
How is it paid for?
Businesses are charged a levy of 1.5% of their businesses rateable value. Only businesses with an RV of £12,000 or over are obliged to pay, but businesses below the RV or outside of the BID area can join as voluntary members by paying the BID levy.
What does BID stand for?
Business Improvement District - Operating as Horsham BID Ltd, Your Horsham are the company responsible for making things happen in Horsham Town Centre in order to facilitate town centre improvements and support businesses through a variety of activities, events and campaigns, over the next 5 years.
Within the parameters of the map below, we intend on supporting businesses in town to increase footfall, raise awareness of the town centre offering, improve spend and generally make it a great place to be throughout the year!
